From Corsica, today or tomorrow? ...

Vacances en Corse At a time when my niece, a young doe-eyed gazelle, just to sea after completing his high school diploma, a request came across my email box via my contact page: Help us to speak of Corsica! The man had planned to take a look this summer, Celine will be in a few hours, and she talked so much to me Sunday that I found the coincidence amusing. Corsica is only one block away from Marseille, so close as the crow flies it would only take a fancy to be found in a few hours in waters renowned for their clarity on an island, so to speak her ...

Drapeau corse

Photo satellite de Corse Marseille is a full stop before crossing the sea, restaurants and grocery stores compete Corsican around the Old Port and in the adjacent lanes. Figatelli, coppa, polenta and brocciu enthroned on many tables, although personally I am a little low for the cream of chestnuts. But this may be the boats coming in and out several times a day port, which make me want to go check it out for a long weekend or a few weeks.

Have you ever boarded a ferry for a crossing? I do. The first time was on my way from Sweden to Finland, a magical journey, undertaken at night, the lights illuminating the windows of small houses on scattered islands in the Gulf used to mirror the stars in a sky of August . I celebrated one of my birthday that night, with my first vodka (of fact). Beautiful memories ...

The Marseille live with the comings and goings of the ferries that carry the metropolitans to Corsica and back. These huge ships are part of everyday life, the local landscape. But in contemplating these vessels are the first call to travel, you will understand the attraction of tourists to these hours of trouble-free navigation. I challenge you to refuse to board these floating buildings, such as Napoleon Bonaparte (how could anyone call him? ...), Stunning realization of light and transparency. First step towards the Island of Beauty and its 1000 km coastline ...

    Hi Marie-Ange

On the subject I could write many pages! I am pleased and fortunate to go in Corsica more or less steadily since 1982, with many more visits since 1994, year-round, several times a year ..
The ferry, I took a few, some of which are no longer the crossing today, at least, about these links, the first was the "Provence", some have also changed their names since (and yes, it there is another model of Napoleon before, much less modern). I borrowed a number of freighters as well, which can travel a little differently.
In recent years, I chose to fly, easier and cheaper from Paris. But I think I'll be up on these floating cities soon, being transferred to Marseille!

With regard to Corsica, the island, so beautiful, so wild and mysterious, it's a place I love, where I feel "at home". There is no other place where I feel so good. A brief visit on my site will give you some ideas on the corner that I know best, the region of Valinco, below the Gulf of Ajaccio. I know other places there, but not as good as my Valinco. The dives are my garden, I know every corner almost!
I recently posted a small article on the dives that I did a week ago!
Cerbicales around the islands, there are also very beautiful dives to ...
Laying me more specific questions if you want to, I would say as far as I know the answers!
    Sincerely,

I just did a little diving in Marseille, I just came back, a little tired and I mostly take a shower (and a bit of material to flush! ...). I'll tell you that this weekend (I mean diving course).

    ;-)

Henry> thank you, I think anyway that I will avoid Corsica hours too crowded in July / August. I plan to go in June or September. But you do not specify what are your favorite dives in Corsica ...

Flo> I knew you were a fan of dives Corsican. I'm going to take a ride again on your site, very well illustrated. And I will answer you more fully later in the day or tomorrow morning ... There, I need a little tea on the terrace, a little time to settle this one-hour dive.

PS: very good news this mutation in Marseille! This will give us the opportunity to meet us if you want.
    :)
