Welcome to my travel blog!
What is a Blog?
It is a communication tool derived from web sites that allows for online text, photos, ideas, thoughts, etc ... But on a blog (web-log), YOU have the opportunity to respond to direct leaving a comment, thus creating a "community" around my writings or my photos, which allow us to share these ideas and thoughts, exchange blows of heart or humor, etc ... The concept intrigues me because it is easier to use a website, and as 14 million users (2006 figures) in the world, I tried the adventure in my lap. And without knowing it, you are tens of thousands to follow me every month! ...
The Story of A World Elsewhere
Tired of doing copy / paste in my e-mails to tell my family and my friends my stories of travel, I experienced the blog for not having to tell only once that I was going around world. Established in March 2005, A World Elsewhere celebrated its fourth anniversary this year with over 430 items online 1 June 2009. After long restricted access to this blog to a list extremely private in September 2006 I decided to make available as many many of my stories and a selection of my photographs. I take a risk because you post, it will reveal. And when we shared the life of someone who exposes himself, we must be very careful with the communication. But with his agreement with this blog I have acquired a new self that goes beyond traditional media relations, and I offer also the secret garden, behind the scenes rarely told in such business trips every year that take us halfway around the world in situations sometimes painful or difficult, often original.
What you read on A World Elsewhere?
I offer here my travel tales and scuba diving, the cuisines from across France, the joys, disappointments, surprises and emotions. All these impressions recorded in a notebook as and measuring mileage by car, boat or airplane, big and small. I am fortunate to travel throughout the year, and I want to show you and tell you. With my style, my pen, with my choice of images. Of course, this is 100% personal, some will find fault, but find nothing of egotism: I just want to read and see, sometimes to think. And nothing prevents philosophize about an idea or a comment! Because I trust you to enrich the content: the whole point of a blog lies in the trade that is created between the person who is online and those who respond. Without your comments, A World Elsewhere not exist!
How to Navigate A World Elsewhere
Each story is placed in a section corresponding to a continent or geographic area. In chapter addresses my , I give you my tips, in subjectivity, according to my feelings, my enthusiasm, my desires. In Read and say it's more about my moods and my reading between trips, a space-time where the life of every day takes over, where we become "everyone" when the worries and thoughts share.
If you wish to read one topic, click one of the "tags" of your choice, listed under each of my accounts: These are keywords that allow you to display only items from this blog related to the word you select (eg Bali , Mauritius , Seychelles , Egypt , ...). A useful way to travel quickly ... And if you want to drift at random areas that you are dreaming, why not find my articles by clicking on the map of my travel stories around the world ...?
What I take a trip?
All my senses awake, all that I can absorb the atmosphere of a situation or place. And incidentally, I take every time in my backpack: my MacBook Pro, two thumb drives 80 GB each for a double safeguard pictures, my phone that looks exactly like an iPhone but with wider functions and above all, more autonomy, even if Mac user, I will give no doubt the hype one day, Canon cameras and appropriate targets, a good range of Canon flash, a kit with various accessories and cables, a floppy Multi transfer my pictures, a travelogue for any note in As and forget nothing, a dark chocolate bar for hard times, and other odds and ends for a total weight of 12-14 kg depending on the destination . Everything you need therefore to work immediately even if my checked baggage was lost a few days (it happened to me). And I cross my fingers for every time we do not weigh my backpack at the same recording if traveling by car with me ...

Hello Benjamin
And a big thank you to let us discover your site I have enjoyed visiting: great music videos, very poetic, which can "see" differently this island where I lived for two years and I held on to numerous memories, sunny or not, I called La Reunion.
I liked the video "Mirrors", with original images, a different vision of this much water on and around the island ...
The images of the clip "Maïdo" are just as pretty even surprises me sometimes assembling (sequence flora encountered a bit) but it may be a bias of originality.
I do not have time to deepen my visit this morning but I'm sure to keep an eye on this work, and with great pleasure! ... It's a great project for the development of La Réunion, which has need.
Bravo
Damn! Someone has discovered my secret island, I console myself by thinking that this can be a connoisseur and who really seems to appreciate its value. I fell in love with Cat Island 9 years ago and I returned almost every year. Its landscapes and its inhabitants are in my heart every day and I have friends. The best being the mother of Lance Major. Unfortunately a great danger hovers over the tranquility of the island: the construction of a golf course PGA with many buildings and construction of an airport important.Même it seems obvious that one should find work for young people This solution is the worst. Just look what happened with Club Med and the Four Seasons in Exuma. The pearl is in danger we must discover before and if there are other paradise in the Bahamas, but shhh! ...
Hello Isabelle, I wanted to write another article on this blog about Cat Island, but I held myself back, I am also afraid that strength to speak in glowing terms so everyone does it precipitates and the island eventually lose its authenticity ... Draft golf and hotels, yes. I hope they will not go too far, but the Ministry of Tourism of the Bahamas is a tourism "controlled". So for now, yes, do not talk too loudly about Cat Island and keep it for us ...
